Tropical Villa

Concept Design

Nestled against the lush, undulating topography of Senggigi, the Tropical Villa concept is an exploration of hillside living that works in harmony with its environment. The design prioritizes a profound connection to the landscape, offering panoramic ocean views while maintaining intimate, sheltered living spaces.

The architectural language is defined by sweeping, deep-eaved roofs designed to shed heavy monsoon rains and provide critical shading from the intense equatorial sun. A warm material palette of locally sourced timber, textured retaining walls, and polished concrete forms the visual foundation of the home, ensuring the structure feels born from the hillside rather than placed upon it.

Central to the concept is the dissolution of the boundary between indoors and outdoors. The main living areas feature floor-to-ceiling glass systems that slide away entirely, opening the interior core to a sprawling wooden deck and an infinity-edge pool. This open configuration maximizes cross-ventilation, allowing the coastal breezes to naturally cool the home without heavy reliance on air conditioning.

The layout steps down the natural grade of the site, creating terraced zones for entertaining, dining, and private reflection. The Tropical Villa represents the pinnacle of barefoot luxury—an architecture that is sophisticated, environmentally responsive, and dedicated to the relaxed rhythm of island life.
